Pro Bio: Veteran of both Gambler seasons... Started 13 of 17 games in 1984, missing only the road contest
against San Antonio... In 1984 Taylor was credited with 42 tackles, 15 assists and four quarterback sacks... Made several
key behind the line stops in short yardage situations... Four sacks in 1984 came against Oakland, Pittsburgh, Chicago and
Memphis, and season-high five tackles and five assists came against Pittsburgh.
Spent three seasons with the Baltimore
Colts from 1981 to 1983, but missed the entire 1982 campaign with a pulled hamstring... Eight round draft choice
of the Colts (220th player selected) in the 1981 NFL Draft... Played in all 16 games in 1981... Started six games, including
two at left end and four of the last five games at right end... Recorded 22 tackles and 16 assists for the season... Also
recorded two quarterback sacks, recovered one fumble and blocked one punt in 1981... Released by Baltimore four games into
the 1983 season.
College Bio: Played four seasons at Houston... Credited with a total of 246 tackles (176 solo)
and 26 quarterback sacks... Played both right defensive tackle and nose tackle... Best tackle totals came as a junior when
he recorded 85 tackles and six quarterback sacks... Associated Press and Sporting News honorable mention All-American in senior
year... Finished second in 1980 Outland Trophy voting.
