Born: April 16, 1961, St. Petersburg, FL

Height: 6-0     Weight: 243

College: Miami-Florida

Acquired: Gamblers' fifth selection in the 1984 USFL open draft (seventh round, 128th selection overall)

Pro Bio: Important anchor of the Gamblers defensive line both years of the team's existence... Voted second team All-USFL by the league's writers and broadcasters in 1984... In 1984 Fitzpatrick started all 18 games, and finished first in the USFL among interior linemen with 13 1/2 quarterback sacks... That total tied him for second on the team... Had more tackles than any other Gamblers lineman with 55 1/2, 20 assists and a single fumble recovery... Defensive bests were two sacks at home versus Oklahoma, and seven tackles and one sack at Michigan.

College Bio: Called the "rock of Miami's defense" by Howard Schnellenberger... Two-year starter... Played nearly every down in 1983... Bench presses 520 pounds and squats 450... Ended 1982 season as Miami's number four tackler... Recorded 42 tackles in 1983 along with three QB sacks and one fumble recovery... All-South Independent and AP Honorable Mention All-American in 1983... Late addition to this year's East-West game... Earned Hurricanes special-teams player of the game award three times.

Personal: Football standout at Seminole High School in St. Petersburg, FL... MVP of state All-Star game after logging 15 tackles... Three-year starter at Seminole... Set a school record as a senior with 143 tackles... First team All-State selection... Won four letters in football, three in track and wrestling, and one in gym... Education major at Miami.
